Balcony-cleaning FAQs

Practical answers for London balconies.

Use these answers to understand preparation, method choice, access, runoff, stain expectations and the information that supports a useful quote.

01Is my balcony too dirty to clean?+

Heavy atmospheric dirt, organic buildup and neglected edges can usually be assessed for a deep clean. Photographs help us separate removable buildup from permanent staining, damaged coatings or material wear before we quote.

02Can you clean bird mess from a balcony?+

Bird mess can be included where the condition and contamination can be handled safely. Tell us how extensive it is and send photographs during follow-up so the cleaning products, protective equipment and disposal approach can be assessed.

03Do you bring your own equipment and products?+

Yes. We bring the professional pressure-washing, agitation and extraction equipment and the cleaning products agreed for the job. We normally require access to a suitable customer water connection and, where needed, power.

04Can you connect to a tap inside my flat?+

Potentially. An outdoor tap is usually simplest, but a suitable indoor connection may be used where the adaptor, access route and hose routing are practical and agreed in advance. Share a photograph of the tap if you are unsure.

05Will pressure washing make a mess below the balcony?+

The space below, drainage and balcony edge are reviewed before pressure washing is proposed. Where runoff cannot be controlled safely, a lower-water or extraction-led method may be more appropriate.

06Do I need to be at home?+

That depends on access and building arrangements. If the balcony is reached through the home, someone may need to provide access unless a separate agreed arrangement is available. This is confirmed before booking.

07Do you clean glass balustrades too?+

Accessible glass, rails and frames can be included in the agreed scope. External faces are only cleaned where they can be reached from a safe working position.

08How long does balcony cleaning take?+

Timing depends on the size, surface, access, buildup, furniture and water management. We use the quote details and photographs to estimate the work rather than giving one duration for every property.

09Do you cover my London area?+

Enquiries are welcomed across all London boroughs, with priority coverage in West and South West London. Practical attendance is confirmed once the postcode and property details are reviewed.

10Can I get a quote before committing?+

Yes. The form is a quote request, not a booking. Send the postcode and property details first; we will review the likely scope before any visit is confirmed.

11Can a balcony be cleaned without soaking the property below?+

Often, yes. The suitable method depends on drainage, the balcony edge and what sits below. Low-moisture agitation, controlled rinsing or extraction-led methods may be preferable to open washing. These constraints should be assessed before the visit.

12Do you need access to an outdoor tap?+

A suitable customer water connection is normally required. It can be outdoors or, where practical and agreed, indoors using the correct connector and careful hose routing. Share photographs of the available tap when requesting a quote.

13What makes a deep clean different from maintenance?+

A deep clean usually allows for more detailed preparation, heavier buildup and a broader surface scope. Maintenance is lighter and more frequent, designed to prevent the balcony returning to the same level of accumulation.

14Is pressure washing safe for every balcony?+

No. It may be unsuitable for loose joints, delicate coatings, some decking, damaged concrete, poorly sealed thresholds or balconies without safe drainage. A lower-moisture method may be the better choice.

15Can old stains always be removed?+

Not always. Some marks are permanent changes within the material rather than removable surface soil. Weathering, rust migration, mineral deposits and failed coatings can limit the result even after careful treatment.

16Can you clean the outside face of balcony glass?+

Only when that face can be reached from a safe working position using an appropriate method. The quote request should include photos showing the panel height, external drop and any opening sections.

17How often should a balcony be professionally maintained?+

There is no single interval for every property. Exposure, shade, planting, drainage and use all matter. A seasonal schedule may suit one balcony, while another may benefit from more frequent light attention.
